The green thing is the first thing I tried and it is a fiberglass flag pole off my atv. I now have a 1/2 inch bolt with the head cut off and screw into a 1/2 pvc 10 foot piece which works but a stainless steel whip antenna would be better. I posted a new pic on the website showing what it looks like.
