My pond is a bit over an acre and is 12' maximum depth. I would only run the aerator to open up snow-covered ice to prevent a fish kill (had one a few years back under prolonged snow covered ice). It was suggested above that the depth should be in about 3 to 4 feet of water and be close enough to shore so that any animal that falls in can get back to shore. I assume that any compressor designed for pond aeration can run cold?
