my new pond is being built as we speak. looks like it is going to be about 2 acres or so with a very long dam, possibly 500 ft or so. i am looking for piping suggestions. my current pond has a 12" stand pipe and another 4" that goes thru the dam with a valve on the dry side. i really like the idea of being able to open valve and lower the level from time to time.
should i go with a siphon or not? im leaning toward similar set up that i have now.
water depth will be about 15 ft.
if i go with regular stand pipe, how long should i make the trash rack? the further it reaches toward bottom, the more of the bad water it removes, right?
