Lets say that when the sonar kills all my troubles in 30-60 days is there anything for me to do in the meantime to get ready for fish later on or maybe something to help the sonar work?

Where do you take water samples to get them tested?

I know where I send my drinking water samples for the water district but I dont think they will take pond water.

Ask your County Agent. Those guys know everything.

To my knowledge there is no restriction on stocking fish with Sonar. Check the label. It is designed for pond use and should make no difference to the fish if used correctly. The restrictions , if I recall are on drinking and irrigation and maybe eating fish for a couple weeks.

The fear that I have is the pond has a inch thick layer of WM it seems, and the pond smells almost septic so I dont want to go killing anymore. And I think the pond guy told me to keep the aerator off for couple weeks to keep the stuff from evaporating, does that sound right to you guys. If you think you may have DO problems from the DW die-off and the aerator being off then wait a couple weeks until the DW dies.

Not even a week yet and stuff is dieing and that makes me happy, Question will the stuff on the banks die or should I spray it with something? And since it is on the bank will roundup or glyphosate work?

How did the DW get on the bank ? Was it due to evaporation or waves , wind etc. If it was in the water it should die. Wait and see what is left at the end and then if necessary ask the guy who sprayed . If necessary you can spray it with Reward to get rid of small pockets and on the bank but it may take a couple of rounds.

evaporation and also me dragging the slender pond weed out with my dragging contraption but it was before the application I believe. Yes I think I will give him a call to have the edges sprayed here in a week or so

It has always been my belief that DW can live on exposed mud that stays wet all the time. Can anyone concur or deny?

Theo I am fairly sure you are correct at least for some period of time until it has dried out and died. That is why when treating it with a contact herbicide you are told to spray it all , on logs , on the banks etc.

To be clear so all will understand, the reason I told trialsguy "If it was in the water it should die" is because the water had been treated with a systemic herbicide Sonar. Because of DW's toughness it is often necessary to spot treat the banks and left over spots with a contact herbicide even after the Sonar has worked. You have to stay after the stuff until it is gone for a while and if it pops back up immediately go after it again.

Will I need to treat it with reward or can I use the weedtrine d since it is on the ground. I havent been able to locate the reward, it has floridone in it right, The weedtrine is pricy as it is.It may be best for me to have reward on hand so I can hit it right away if the stuff pops back up. Plan on talking to the person that applied the sonar on Monday.

Nither has floridone . Talk to your guy and he will know.
