My BIL used up all my 30-30 reload stuff

Got plenty of everything else tho.

I also have plenty of everything. But, I don't have all the new stuff that I want to try re bullets and/or powders.

I probably have 5,000 primers of each size.

What I don't have is the time to go to the range. It seems like something always gets in the way.

Looking to get my son his fist gun and I am looking for him is kind of hard to find. I am looking for a .17 HMR with a stainless barrel and scope. If anyone knows of such of a piece please drop me an IM.

On another note I had laser eye surgery done on my eyes for distance three years ago and it was the best thing I have done. I would recommend it to anyone how can not see for distance. Close up can't be fixed with lasers.

Ken, I take it your model 94 is an older one that ejects straight up, how's that work with the scope?

I've been having to buy ammo online, prices not bad, but they really get you on the shipping. Managed to get to a new Gander Mtn the morning they opened their doors and they had stuff I haven't seen on shelves in almost a year - .22, 9mm, 30-30, .308, limit of 10 boxes per customer/day.

It was almost noon and the .22 shelves were almost bare, but they had an aisle display with lots of the Remington sub-sonic hollow pts in 100 packs. Haven't tried those yet and don't know how they'll do on squirrels or how much quieter they really are, but might be good for hunting near the neighbor's houses.

I use the non powder Calibri for back yard squirrels and for city target practice.

I haven't tried the Remingtons.

VAMAX - yes, it is a top eject. I forget what year it is, but I think it is a late 60s model. When I was a young teen I was given an octagonal barrel lever action Winchester 30-30 that was one very rugged gun. When in my late teen years I needed to be more manly and traded the thing for a Remington 30-06. What a horrible mistake.

Dave -- I've had a number of the pellet rifles that Cummins Tools sold for about $20 for years. I think the 4x scopes were about $5. I'd lend them to somebody and never get them back. Actually, my last one is with a friend now. Those things are incredible. I'd sight them in at 25-30 yards, and they are very accurate. At 50 feet or so, the pellets have no problem going right through a squirrel. And, they are virtually silent. They sound like removing an air tool from a compressor. I don't have any statistics, but they would compare well with 22 shorts, just noiseless.

Ken, that sounds like my old pump up Crossman. Sadly, the seals finally went and getting it repaired is cost prohibitive.

But, the calibris are actually a little quieter.

Dave. -- I did a little Googling. Mine is known as a 'Chinese Industries B3'. Amazon has them for $40. B3 Air Rifle.. It looks like Cummins Tools went out of business.

My Grandson has a Chinese air rifle. It's OK but not as good as the old Benjamin and Crossman pump ups.

I had a less than good experience buying a Chinese air rifle online about 4 or 5 years ago. First air rifle I bought my son, solid wood stock and all, I thought it was a good deal. Don't mean to imply all Chinese air guns are junk, but this one arrived in an oversized cardboard box - no styrofoam, not even wrapped in plastic. the rear sight was broken and it took me alot of doing to get a replacement. I think their parts company was operated out of some guy's basement in Texas and he kept sending the wrong rear sight. One time he sent a front sight. I kept sending them back and finally drilled and tapped new holes to fit the wrong rear sight he sent me twice. Then when we finally got to shootin' found it was not very accurate. Poor kid musta missed 2 dozen squirrels before I went and got him a Crossman at Wally World. Finally the squirrels quit laughing.

Here's mine: an RWS model 34 "Diana". Solid Beech stock, fully adjustable trigger, break-barrel .22 caliber. I've had it for so long I really can't say just how old it is. I am comfortable in stating the number of squirrels and bullfrogs I have taken with it number in the hundreds.

High flashpoint oil is a necessity, as it will readily diesel when you squeeze the trigger.
