Any product suggestion to help erradicate all willow along shore edge. Last summer, I removed all willow and layed down landscape fabric and tonnes of rip rap rock and in some areas, the willow has grown up thru all the material. I would like to kill before it gets too big and takes over. Thanks for your suggestions and help.

Renovate (triclopyr) is a great product for willows. You need a non-ionic surfactant with this. It does a great job, and is fairly quick acting. It is dicot specific so it should not hurt your graasy areas.

Ortho Brush Killer is also 8% triclopyr and must have a surfactant in it. It has worked well for me.

If you use the Ortho product, make sure it can be used in water.
No, I don't know of anyone in Canada that has this product.
We use Sil Energy from Brewer, but there are many that will work fine.

Thanks all, I will need to get some to help kill the smaller willows before they get a strong hold along the shoreline and rip rap rock!

I think of willows as weeds, not trees. Every year I either spray or pull them. I bet I pulled 50 of them last weekend. Last fall, I would have bet that my spraying/pulling program had finally paid off.

Dave, I enjoy the work but controlling a portion of the shoreline would be overbearing with some 3000' linear feet of shoreline. I could send my wife out though....HA!HA!

Rowly, I use Remedy. Actually, I use it for oaks, briars, willows, poisin ivy, etc. It works pretty well. I occasionally get some in the water and haven't noticed any ill effects. I have a sprayer for my 4 wheeler and occasionally use a small pump sprayer.
New ones keep coming.
