No luck getting a hold of Mongo. I have been able to do quite a bit of work myself on this project (going from 1.5 acres to 3 acres)
but lack the equipment and skills to dig a proper core trench in the existing dam. I want to do this right but have found it very difficult to get someone who is available and takes this project as seriously as I do.
A couple questions:
Is there anyone in the Central Illinois area that is available and can dig a proper core trench? I have tried 4 different local contractors and everyone is on bigger projects this fall.
If not, then:
Is it possible to shave off the back 1/4 of the existing dam and core down from there, then extend the dam over the core? I could swing that with the equipment I have. The water level when full would still be below the core in this scenario. Thanks in advance guys; hoping to get this construction behind me and start stocking some Walleyes, Perch, and Smallies next year.
