Our state moved our seasons for this year. Usually, we'd have had a few days last week or next week. I've got to wait three more weeks.
When I put the chickens away, and checked the fish feeders this evening, the deer knew! There were eight antlerless deer in the field above my lower pond - within about 25-50 yards away. They just momentarily looked up at me!
Earlier in the afternoon, when I drove out to the county road to our mailbox, there was a big doe and two spotless fawns that watched me from our front field. After I got the mail and headed back to the house, they were still munching in the same area -- within about 25 feet of me and my noisy little UTV.
They all looked delicious.
