Thanks guys. I was intending on using it on filamentous alage while it was still on the bottom. I usually net it out once it floats.

I'm seeing something different this year regarding my chara in the trout pond. It is being covered with filamentous algae and may be killing it except in the deepest water.

I do have an aquaculture book that talks about killing off macrophytes by fertilizing in winter to allow the filamentous algae to cover it and kill it. They used something called superphosphate.


If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
