Hi everyone. My name is chad and I'm new to this pond management business. I was wondering what kind of success anyone might have had controlling lyngbya. Either chemically, mechanically, or by adding barley etc. to the water. If anyone has had success with these methods, I would be interested in also hearing about application methods and if there is a species of barley that works best.

Chad : Welcome to the forum. Sorry your first post has to do with such a bad plant. See the link below it might help. If you have the giant type the article says it is hard to deal with. Chad - email me sometime, or give me a call to discuss a new 2-step lyngbya treatment-method that is being tested with promising success (Greenclean & Copper). The researcher (from Clemson) presented a paper on his preliminary results at the TAPMS conference in San Antonio, back in August. There are a lot of details; too many to write at present. KD
