I'm will be doing something different this year on the ponds to keep herons out. I have been using stakes with heavy fishing line with success, but putting several rows of line and stakes in the pond has been a pain. It also made it difficult to cut out the cattails so it all had to come down.

I will be putting a 2 to 3 foot fence around the pond edge this year that I hope will be permanent. Either plastic fencing or chicken wire mesh.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
