Good Luck! The brightly colored lines work pretty good but I've still see those devils get in somehow! And then when they can't wade in they are on my pier! I'm not only concerned with the fish they mutilate (large ones a hole in the back) but the numerous parasites they add to the water. Believe it or not cattails can be a good deterent if they are thick enough.
I hate to say it but the only real effective eliminator of a persistent bird that will not give up, is those high speed projectiles moving at 2000 fps, that purposely or accidently find their target. Sad but true. If I lived in an isolated area where I could get away with it I would gladly blow their brains out! They are as common as flies here and nothing more than parasite vectors in my opinion.
