We have a new pond and have had visits from a Heron who has a large appetite. We stocked the pond early this summer with fat head minnows as forage, large mouth bass and blue gill. Any suggestions on ways to keep it away from the pond?

We have heard that they are solitary creatures. Friends have suggested using heron statues to prevent them from feeding at the pond. Any comments on this approach? If this works do any of you know of a reliable source?
