As some of you may have heard, our community was rocked this week over the tragic death of a little girl, Willow Long. Sunday morning, she was reported missing, and a massive search was done. Over a thousand searchers combed the hills, hollows, corn and bean fields for nearly 3 days during the hottest days of the year. Several suffered heat exhaustion. Several ponds were dragged. Unfortunately, she was found dead. Apparently, her uncle, who was supposed to be watching her while her mother was getting wasted at a bar, murdered her when she interrupted him "pleasuring" himself. He claims he chased her and that she fell on a stick pile, getting impaled in the neck. As she "twitched," he "Put her out of her misery" by cutting her throat and stabbing her several times. Later, he put her in a trash bag and hauled her away in his van. You can't imagine our utter horror that such a thing could happen in our quiet little region. Please pray for her and all in the area who are trying to cope with such senselessness.
