Well, the digging is done. The areas that were disrupted have been seeded. The ledge has been scraped and washed down with a fire hose. And now...we wait...

Hi Daren:

It's been pretty grim here in NH, rain-wise. I still have only a massive hole with a tiny bit of water in the bottom. The ground water keeps trickling in, but Mother Nature has not been stepping up to the plate with any significant rainfall. The only real difference is the green peach fuzz that is sprouting all around the pond.

I can't say I'm surprised. I knew that as soon as I finished digging, we would have a drought. Just like I knew a few years ago that as soon as I bought my tractor-mounted snow blower, we would stop having any appreciable snowfalls. It's just the way it is.

Sorry to hear that. It looks like your pond is really going to be great when it's finally swim-ready. I can't wait to see the finished product at full pool.

When I was getting ready to start my dig a few friends kept asking me how I was going to keep water in it. I have kept the idea of an artesian well in mind just in case it comes to that. Hopefully it wont, but you never know. Keep your head up and let us know if anything changes!!!
