I will be going out to investigate the site I believe I would like to place my pond. I feel I've done my research on what to look for but was hoping for some advise on what to look for to make sure my site is appropriate. Is there anything you guys have come across that you wish you had know when you were choosing your site but didn't think of at the time?

Perfect Pond from the Pond Boss office. Yes think 50 years out and envision what you want in context of the land. Get a couple of insightful friends out there and ask them to look and think as well. Read here as there is a lot of info on this process. B'ski's thread is a very good place to start the journey. http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=userposts&id=2305&view=started&page=1If the link stops working go to Brettski and look at the threads he started. There is an absolute wealth of every nature there on the subject. Topics created by Brettski. Here is the archive on building. http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=92487#Post92487

If you go to the site, take LOTS of pics....the more you have on hand to throw up on the site here, then somebody may be able to give better advice. With the digital age it costs nothing. but it is priceless info.
There is lots more to know than anyone person can give, but one piece at a time. YES... a fantastic journey, take the time to enjoy it.

I went out today and checked it out, if this site works it looks like it would be about 150 ft ish by 80-100 feet ish which would end up being about 1/3 of an acre.
