I seem to have a dilemma. I am having an algae problem along with some weeds in my 3 acre pond. When reading the label on the Cutrine Plus, I see that I can't use it since I have nearly a dozen very large koy in my Bass and BG pond. I also have a containerized lilly pad that some other herbicides/aquacides will eliminate. The weeds and algae are covering about 40% of my pond. I used Aquashade this year, but I believe I was a bit too late in applying it. I also had some fish die when I put it in. Any suggestions would be helpful. I know that I can rake it out...but it's a very large area.

Thanks in advance.

HeyNow,
I used the granular Cutrine Plus for spot treating algae in my pond in April. Treated about a quarter of the pond once a week and had very good results. I also added a dye but it wasn't AquaShade and it has helped. Sorry I'll try to remember the name but it worked great.

Gary,

Do you have Koy in your pond? Any problems applying the chemical and it killing Koy?

Thanks,

Another option for algae in Koi ponds is Green Clean. Although expensive, it will not harm the fish. I would also continue to use the pond dye. It sure won't hurt anything.
