Here is my take on this. Read the package label and I am sure they describe how much to apply. USE common sense. More is not always better. It does not kill real fast be patient. Remove floating mats before treating. Get yourself a good smelt dipping net; it is great for filamentous algae removel; esp the floating mats.. I would buy the 30 lb bag. Sooner or later, you will eventually use all of it. You will always have algae in more or less amounts depending on the current nutrtient levels in the pond.
