It has been raining a LOT in south Ga and the pond is running off into the overflow pipe. My brother-in-law was mowing for me this morning and he found this LMB in the ditch. Released him back into the pond in time.

All I can say is.......Wow! your BIL mows for you???? Seriously though, it's not at all uncommon for fish to be washed out like this. Glad someone was there to put this one back in.
Have you walked downstream, looking for more escapees?

Maybe it's the camera angle in the 2nd pic, but it looks like that LMB is stunted. Large head for it's body. Am I seeing things? Have you checked the Relative Weight of the LMB in the pond?

We are there only about 3 days a month and my BIL lives about 3 miles away, he is retired and he says it gives hs life purpose. I put a new 61" ZTR in the garage and gave him a gas card and he is content, but I do set him a plate at the table when we're in town.
Yes, several of the LMB have looked stunted to me too. I've gotta work on that.
