Pond Boss Forums AERATION Should I aerate? What determines if a pond needs an aerator?

Guys, I'm am new to the whole pond thing and was wondering what Is the purpose of the aerator and should I place one in my pond. I live in South Louisiana and I will be digging a 100x200 pond(4/10's acre). 100x60 will be 5' deep and 100x140 will be 10' deep.
