I also caught a pound and a half BG - my first ever non-trout on a fly rig - and was blown away by how much fun it was.
I had always thought of fly-fishing as a way of catching trout, not any other species and especially not used in a farm-pond,,,, until joining PB!

My first cast last night was one of my HSB stockers, now at 11" and healthy (fat). Until then I had only caught BG.
What a thrill!
