I would skip the bass. In 4/10 acre there is a really good chance that they will over spawn, fill the pond with runt bass and all but eliminate bluegills. Go with the cats if you like them. They are a put and take fish. Catch and eat at about 2 pounds. Then restock. There will be a couple that get hook shy and will be tough to catch. But, that's not all bad if you like messing with bigger fish.. I doubt that they will muddy the pond.
At 4/10 acre, my recommendation is HBG, channel catfish or hybrid striper. Feed them either by hand or with a feeder.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
