Pond Boss Forums INTRO Questions & Observations Great fly fishing in the pond this summer

The forums have been a HUGE help with the pond. The pond is part of a homeowners' association but I'm one of the default managers. I'm about to add some artificial structure because the pond is basically a bowl. I have been feeding the fish Gamefish Chow for more than a year. Some of the LMB are starting to eat it now, too, which is encouraging.

The grass carp eat the Gamefish Chow so I made a fly out of a piece of brown foam that looked similar to a pellet. When the carp are eating small plants off the top, I use the fly and they've taken it twice. The first carp broke off after about 30 minutes. The carp shown took about 45 minutes to get in. I don't use the pellet fly when they're actively feeding on the Gamefish Chow, just when they're feeding on the top. I haven't hooked a steelhead before but the grass carp is one of the strongest fish I've ever fought.

I sight fish for the channel cats. They crush large Wooly Buggers.
