I started with 3' beds and have since shaved them down too 2 to make it easier to weed, reaching 3' stunk I couldn't imagine trying to reach 5-6' across your corners you have..

These are what my new ones are going to be like:


I could have sworn I bought 2x12's, but they are 2x10's. The 2x12's went for a wheelchair ramp. The other bed's I tried were made from 3x4 landscape timbers (if you wanna call em that), anyway, I stacked them 2 high, edgewise, so they were 8" deep. Worked really well and were cheaper than dimensioned lumber at the time.

I'll post some pictures after I get one built in the next several weeks. This crappy weather has set back many of my plans already.


Just delays with work and how the weather and work are cooperating. I don't have any problem reaching across a 4' bed. Easier to do from the perimeter tho.
