In the next year or two I hope to put an aerator system in my 2 acre pond, less than 10' deep. I'm looking at doing it at the least cost without skimping on quality if that's possible. I'll start with the compressor since it is the only part i have (if it works for an aeration system).

I got a free compressor last year, before I had a pond. It is a Campbell Hausfeld Powerpal air compressor model MT33004. 120 V, 9A, 60Hz with adjustable pressure from 5 to 100 psi. Thermally protected. It states for "Farm and Home Use".

At this point I should say I know very little about compressors. Will this work for an aeration system. I have turned it on for about 10 seconds and it ran good. Before that it was not run for at least a couple years. What maintenance should be done prior to putting it to use. Hopefully I can find the service manual for it online.

If this one doesn't work, what should I be looking for on craigslist, eBay, or garage sales?

Any advise is apricated.
