Do lots of homework before buying and or building. Many options are possible. I suggest that you first find out how much water needs to be moved each day (minimum one turnover each day; then usually the pump can rest - off) and then locate or build an aerator that can do that task. Each diffuser moves a specific amount of water based of diffuser pore size, amount of air volume (not psi) put through the diffuser, how long it runs, and how deep it is in the pond (water column height).
