I got my water tested at LSU and got the results back over the weekend. I'd like to hear any input from more experienced members here.
To me, the water looks pretty good. I was a bit concerned because I got the soil test results back a week ago. The soil is more concerning to me (high phosphorus among other things) but if it's not killing the water I don't know that I should worry. The results are attached here. I'll also mention I've been aerating for about a year and the pond is 40 years old. It did have lots of duckweed a year back which I've killed off.
Edit: One thing not listed on the water results which I was told over the phone is my Phosphate water levels which was 0.05 ppm.
Looks ok to me. I did note that there is some limiting or usage factor causing the water to not retain the Ca that is in good supply in the dirt. Could be that the Ca in the water is being used up.
My pond is in the middle of a fair amount of hardwood, so I'd wonder if the calcium isn't neutralizing some of the acidity of the leaves. Is it possible the calcium was added by the original pond builder or someone afterwards who limed the pond? Seems like the calcium should still be present though the more I think about it.
