Well, I have looked at a lot of pictures, but nothing really matches. My best guess was a specked king snake, but it just doesn't really look right.
My first thought was the old line "red & yellow, kill a fellow", but this obviously isn't a coral snake.
I suspect the collective wisdom of the Pond Bosses will supply the correct answer.
