Where is a good source to buy some water plants for my 5-acre pond? I waould like some to be submerged and some on the periphery.

Thanks.

I don't know squat about water plants, but my fish supplier, Jones Fish, has 7 pages of plants listed for sale online here: Jones Fish Water Plants

If nobody has a better solution for you, you could look them over, maybe get some ideas, and do a websearch for a closer supplier.

Mark,
Happen to see your post about pond plants. I looked long and hard to find a bulk source of pond plants. Try C.P. Daniel's Sons Inc. I bought from them and had good luck. They are in Georgia. Their web site is: http://www.burke.net/cpdaniel/content.htm

Try Lilly Pons or Lilly Blooms. Great plants and great to deal with.

I would identify some wild arrowhead and blue flag iris in your area and ask the land owner if you could have a few and randomly plant them. I bought some lizard\'s tail and hardy water lilies. I put the lilies in cloth pots on a 2' deep pea gravel shelf I have. I had bulrush, spikerush, another slow growing plant I haven't identified, water milfoil, and cattails coming up on their own. I pull the cattails and some of the milfoil. This is just what I've done, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Why don't we start a "Plant exchange" on this forum? We could list what we have and post what we need.

Mark :

Start with knowing about the soil in and around your pond . Is it acid or base what grows well in your soil type . Then look at some of the referenced sites for what you like and their growth profile. To many plants can be a problem. after you id some plants re-post with questions about them . I think you will get lots of advice. ewest
