Ok, I posted on the other Page but I was not able to catch ANY crappy the last time out? This is a crappy isn't it? I tried the same spoon and a bunch of smaller jigs but nada! All I caught was big LMB. I think I need to stock BG and take out some of the smaller LMB. The pond is 1.36 acre and we caught 13 or so bass up to 20" at least. We had had a bunch of rain lately so water was a little cloudy, might have hindered sight of crappy? Do you think it's that important to try to get them (crappy) out?
that is a crappie. There is a lot of info about them in small ponds, but it is my understanding that they will overpopulate due to big mouths and early spawn. They will reproduce to the point that all you have are small ones. They are somewhat difficult to manage to meet "big fish" goals.
That looks like a White Crappie as well, which may make it even a little harder to manage.
Although that one looks pretty healthy and a good eating size so you may have a good time getting some meals anyway.
Since the pond does have crappie in it you will probably want to toss back all LMB to help control them or at least the ones under 15 to help with the spawn of the crappie and BG if you have or add them.
