I hatched and produced several hundred smallmouth fingerlings up to 7 inches in length in a 1/10th acre pond about 8 feet deep on one end. Even feed trained with lights. Piece of cake. Only problem was when I moved them to tanks I had cannibalism due to insufficient grading.

Maximum depth means nothing.
