I'm building a new pond. It will be fed from runoff of approximately 5 acres. I'm located on a bluff. Hoping for about a 1/2 acre pond. I have quite a bit of clay in the soil, like most Missouri dirt. Should I seal the bottom and dam with betonite during construction or pond liner. Hope to make it into a fishing pond and also water for wildlife.

If you have quite a bit of clay in the soil, why do you think you need bentonite. Have the soil analyzed, and if the clay content is high enough, save your money from the bentonite, and make sure you properly compact the clay liner.
even a blind nut finds a squirrel every now and then!
