Does anyone else ever run across the small subspecies of trashellunge? I have visited sites where these things numbered in the thousands.....they're about an inch or so long, guite cylindrical in shape, a light brown or tan most often, and have a peculiar nicotine odor......I tell you what, for such a tiny critter NOTHING eats these things......

Cody Comment: Why do cigarette smokers think they have the right to put their waste butts outside where ever they are done smoking. I've seen collections dumped in parking lots. If cigarette users smoked in a big plastic bag they could recycle a lot of their exhaust.

I guess this is way off topic but the other day my buddy and I were kayaking on the quemahoning reservoir keep in mind the kayak I was in is 8 ft long. Now I was paddling very slowly as to not scare away the fish back a small channel only about 20ft wide and I floated right next to the biggest musky I have ever seen it was literally half the size of my small boat so about 4 ft long and because I was basicly drifting at the time I was able to get right up beside it then after about 20 seconds the fish swam away. that was something I will never forget. sorry if this is a hijack.

I wonder if you could take a DNA sample from that booze bottle. I'll bet T.J. would go into hiding!

I have a couple neighbors that appear quite adept at cultivating the Trashellunge. A little know fact is that some subspecies are apparently capable of a type of asexual reproduction. Just last week I observed my neighbor mow over the top of a 32 oz Trashellunge, (white, with a curious, golden "M" on it's side, for those that wonder about such things), while cutting his grass.... Instantly, that one individual was able to convert itself into many hundreds of smaller, immature fry, which were then able to ride the breeze over into my yard, thereby extending their range, as invasive species are prone to do.

I fear this is only the beginning.

Sprkplug - I've seen them do that very thing over at my neighbor's house, too. However, they are apparently very intelligent people and have developed a technique whereby they alter the physical state of their trashellunge so it can no longer reproduce.

From what I can see, they begin by herding their trashellunge into these big black plastic traps and once full, they tie the tops and store them in the back of a pickup that no longer runs.

When the truck bed can no longer hold any more of the plastic traps, they wait until the wind is blowing towards my house and then toss them one by one into a 55 gallong drum and set them on fire!

I do not know all the details of proper temperature or cook time, but I do know the once solid trashullunge undergoes some sort of reaction and is converted mostly to gas.

I don't think they've quite perfected the method though 'cause there always seems to be a number of the critters that are able to escape and blow around their driveway. I'm thinking my neighbors suffer from poor eyesight or something, because they don't ever seem to notice the ones that get away.

Bruce, have you broken out in a rash of poison ivy or other ailment from army crawling through those weeds!?
