I fertilized recently, and now I have a floating stringy plant that gets on my lure virtually every cast... it is just beneath the surface and not attached to the bottom. There is a milky white cloud on the surface where the wind has pushed it into the corner. I have heard reference to the pond boss aguatic flip chart, but I cannot find it. This weed is not listed on the U of Florida website. I am near Mineral Wells TX

Sounds like filamentous algae except for the part about being milky white on the top.... unless of course the milky white is pollen, or other tree/plant 'fluff' and not related to the 'goo'

I put Cutrine plus granules in a 5 gallon bucket upside down so that it traps air in the bottom and then weigh down the handle. Drill holes in the lower half of the bucket and set this in your pond. This product is a chelated copper sulfate product and works well to stop Fila. Algae. Anyway it has worked well for me here in Tx.
