There really wasn't any 'misfortune' per say. More like 'expected to happen' kind of thing.
We made no attempts at self preservation and just went for the wrecker.
Most likely a good decision. Every time it seems like you get stuck worse or end up with two vehicles stuck or in the case of the original pond fill in on my property two Fords, a Chevy,and one backhoe. One of the fords lost it rear bumper too. It was a nightmare. All to pull the backhoe out. In the end a friend who knew how to run the backhoe properly just hopped in it and had it out in 15 minutes. Then he pulled out the trucks. Made for one heck of a drunken adventure for everybody I guess.
