I spoke to a landowner we lease 2 lakes from last week, and she was contacted by a guy selling fish and fertilizer over the phone. Her father had bought from him many years ago and he was looking to see if she wanted some more fish. When she told him, she was getting her fish and supplies elsewhere he swore at her and hung up the phone. She did not catch his name or company, but it sure sounds like the guy from Arkansas. Anybody recall his name?

I think one dude's name was Rex Allen Curtis or Ray Allen Curtis.

Sunil, Thanks for the name. I'm not sure if this is the guy or not that called. But, the way the guy handled the call it sure sounded like it might be the same guy. Anyone who would swear at you for not buying fish and then hang up is no one anyone would want to do business with. Many, and I mean many, pond owners were affected by this individual. You may also want to read these: BBB vs Rex Allen Curtis Cival Order re: Rex Allen Curtis Take the BBB with a grain of salt. They send out requests for information via mail, and if you don't respond to it, you automatically get an "F" rating. What they want is for a business to pay them a fee to get a good rating. They will also issue alerts on their own for failure of a business to comply with their requests. Menards BBB Walmart BBB The difference between these two, is that one paid the BBB, and the other did not. I could post these comparisons all day long  The BBB is more of a scam than this Curtis guy  I am not diminishing the fact that he caused a bunch of people grief.

You may be on to something Phil. My parents got scammed by a business that said none of their furniture was made in China. When it was delivered the delivery guy let it slip that it was ALL made in China. My parents refused the furniture not because it was made China but because they were lied to. Guess who the BBB sided with? Not my parents.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Jwwann...Rex Allen Curtis is banned from the fish business. If you have an order through HIM, contact the Arkansas Attorney General's office.
MY name is Rex also, Rex RAINS and it scares the hell out of me when his name comes up!!!

Rex Allen Curtis has been banned from selling fish in Arkansas but they can not affect his business outside of Arkansas. I have a copy of BOTH orderes against him if anyone is interested.
I will not do business with him again. In fact, I went to Arkansas to testify against him in the second case. We brought pictures, flyers, calls, the cnx'ed check, everything. That is how strong I dislike his treatment of others.
FYI other states are after him as well. If you think you are getting scammed, call the Attorney Generals office and the game warden in your state ASAP. They have the resources to handle people who don't play by the rules.

Unfortunately, she could not recall his name. The way she described the phone call and is irritation and scare tactics; maybe think it has to be Mr. Curtis.

That sounds just like the complaints filed against him in Arkansas. The "Good Guys" would love to catch him in the act so they could offer him a new address.

10 minutes once the wrecker showed up. Ha Ha. I have a couple of deep ruts in my yard where Essup got stuck backing the fish trailer. Fortunately his sister's 4x4 did the pulled it out. Essup sure said "Oh crap," a lot. Sorry Scott I let it slip. LOL
