On a more serious note, the biggest factor will be if there is a good bloom happening when they are released. This will enable them to thrive and find food. There has been some evidence that releasing them into open water away from cover may help them survive. It seems completely opposite of how nature would intend them to be since they GSH generally lay their eggs on vegetation or algae in shallow water. Hence the fry would then be born and live in shallow water.
What are you trying to accomplish by releasing these fry into your pond?
