Well, the Mrs. went and purchased a bunch of tomato plants, but we can't get them planted due to the roller-coaster temperatures we're experiencing here in Oklahoma. We're supposed to have severe thunderstorms this afternoon, followed by a cold front passage that's supposed to drop the temperatures below freezing.......again! Our average last freeze is around the end of March to April 1st. Haven't been able to get any crops going either, due to all the rain we've been getting. I'm running way behind. Hope you all are having better luck!

Yep, harvest the mustard greens for the third time this winter,
Reworked the soil in the raised bed and planted peppers and tomatos last weekend.

Could have gotten in the ground weeks ago but the Greens were growing so well I waited. I now have enough frozen greens to eat on for some time. We cooked them up and froze in portions right in the stock they were cooked it. They freeze very well that way, simply warm and eat..

Planted a 1/2 mile of potato's not long ago & still pulling up carrots. Constantly have stuff roatating in and out here.

Your right about the Roller-coaster temperatures. We planned on transferring 100 tomato plants from the green house to the garden yesterday, but mother nature said�.hold your horses. 70s today, 20s and snow tonight.

Onions are doing great and just planted peppers and tomatoes last week. Herb bed also going strong.

We didn't have our usual pre-Easter frost, so we should be good to go.

irish potatoes in Feb. Watermelon, cukes, yellow squash, bush bean planted with from seeds 4 weeks ago and bell, poblano, jalapeno, and anaheim peppers transplants in 3 weeks ago.

Potatoes, peas, onions and carrots planted in late Feb. Corn is just breaking through the ground. Carrots are not doing well and will be re-seeded. But my best crop so far are the weeds. We have a real good crop of weeds this year.

Same here. We hit 82 today. Tonight, we're going down to around 30 degrees with severe thunderstorms in sub-freezing weather! I don't remember the weather being this weird back when I was a kid. We used to get a line of thunderstorms along and ahead of cold fronts. Now they come behind the front after the temperature has plummeted 30+ degrees. Got some thunder-snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, etc. heading this way as I type. The temperature dropped 10 degrees in 8 minutes in Oklahoma City when the front went through. I'm farther east and it's still 78 degrees here.

Onions are in and growing, potatoes this weekend probably some other stuff too. I planted about 250 onions this year aint gonna run out this time

I'm getting there. It is just slow this year. A year ago I lost my longtime garden to a new power line through our property. I lost my asparagus beds, rhubarb, horse radish beds, and my bramble berries -- plus my fencing and raised beds.

This year's long winter hasn't helped either. I had to restart a lot of my seedlings.

My onions and garlic are in. I saved some chives and they are doing OK. A new horseradish bed and new rhubarb bed have been started. Down near the main pond I put about 35 strawberry plants into holes on the side of about a 40 gallon plastic pot this morning. Tomorrow I hope to get my broccoli and cabbage in. The cabbage seedlings are starting to head. On Thursday morning I hope to get the new asparagus patch in.

Around a week ago we hit 14�F for a low, it was 80�F today. They are calling for temps later on this week to be in the low 30's Saturday morning.

I know people a few years ago that had to plant their garden 3 times because they planted too soon.

This is the latest start to the annual mushroom season I have ever experienced.....this year's growing season is definitely behind schedule.

I think someone screwed up all the calendars, because everything seems to be a month off.

I can't wait to get back home tomorrow. I'm in Connecticut and found an incredible nursery. The back of our Explorer is filled with things like bare root raspberries, rhubarb in pots, and flats of every imaginable herb. This morning I also ordered 10x500 feet of floating row cover and a new metal conduit 4x4 hoop bender.

I'm not going to tell you northern folks what I've got going for fear you might move down here

I'd say that I don't know if I could take the summers down there, but after last years heat and humidity up here, I think I could!

I just planted spinach and some other greens for salads. One of my favorite greens is "Salad Burnet", it has the pretties leaves and tastes exactly like cucumber... just noticed it's coming up from last year!

... my grandpa's ~100 year old garlic that everyone in the state seems to have is coming up nicely.

My dream is to have a greenhouse for my passion flowers. That's what Stubby Steve's is going to happen for me... one day. I had over 140 different varieties of them but they don't over winter well inside at all. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

What kind of herbs do you have? I moved a few years ago and am trying to replenish my herb garden. We can't safely plant anything here before June 1st. And it drives me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love our four seasons and the weather is wonderful but the growing season is so short.

Not really a "garden", but I made three trips to the nursery today.

Going with a lot of decorative grass this year at the house.

Purple fountain grass is my favorite and takes the Texas heat pretty well.

I was hoping a cop wouldn't pull me over with all this "grass" in my SUV!

Haven't had a garden in years, but now getting settled in the new house and farm thinking of planting one next year. Instead of the approach of tilling up a large area, I am thinking of building raise planting beds and mulching between the beds to keep the muddy mess to a minimum. Anyone use raised beds? Any construction tips?

I'm thinking of using treated 1x6 for mine. I plan on putting right where my burn pile was. I've heard all that tree ash tilled up is good stuff..... My wife has already planted some Early Girl tomatoes. I'll have to cover them up tonight as we're expected to have another freeze with a frost expected Saturday morning as well. Way too late for this cold weather here in central Oklahoma.
