I have a koenders windmill with a freeze protection tank. Is methanol all right to put in
tank to de-ice airline during the winter months.
Thought about rv fluid but thought a alcohol would be better. I don't have good acess to ethanol or any other type of alcohol to use for this. It shouldn't take much to keep airline protected but this is my first winter having windmill so I will find out. I don't want to add
anything to pond to could cause some type of problem either. Thanks ahead for any help on this.

Ted Lea with Forevergreen uses this type of tank set up as well. Hopefully he will chime in on this one.

Methanol is fine, ethanol works great if you can find it (Iowa should have plenty)and standard RV (not automotive) antifreeze works as well.Make sure your tank holds pressure as I have had some leakers at the poly welded seam on the top inlet fitting recently,
