Anybody stocked tilapia in the Athens, Tyler, Canton area before the cold snap of yesterday and today? If so, did you have any issues with the fish? What are your water temps today?

We decided to wait a little longer to deliver to our customers. But, after this cold snap, we're ready to roll. I've heard nothing from anyone who's stocked any.

My pond is near Canton, TX. Yesterday morning the water temp was 61 and it got up to 65 in the afternoon. We haven't stocked Tilapia yet, we're planning on doing it next week. They probably would've been OK.

Thanks. I think we are safely above the temps. I stocked a few lakes last week and got a little nervous after near freezing temps last Wednesday and Thursday evening. We will go hard now.

Steve, George, Allen and I have socked them over the last two weeks and I have seen several fanning beds. I have them in two ponds and Allen has some "blocked" and some free in his big puddle. George was the first to stock on Easter. Goerge's water temp was 66.7 an Allens was +67 when he stocked the CNBG and warmer than that when he added his Tilapia. My ponds were 63-67 degrees the two day before I stocked last week. All seem to be having good success. All three of us got them from Overton's fisheries. Todd did us right!! His fish are very healthy and have good size and energy.
Mine can be seen from the banks and I expect to have spawns starting on the full moon.
Any other questions, I'll try to do my best to help.

Night time lows in the upper 30's again this Thursday and Friday. But, with water temps at or near 70, I can't imagine them dropping much more than 5 to 7 degrees. Looks good from here.
