As far as heating the pond - I wouldn't bother sending heat from my garage to the pond IF my geothermal heat source was the pond.

Some Winter day when I get electric at my pond, I think I'll drop a 1500W floating tank heater onto the ice and see how big a hole thaws. This would be interesting to compare with the cost of the electricity to run it. I strongly suspect it's a really expensive way to keep a small hole open compared to the sparing use of aeration. Should be impossible to supercool with a heater, though.
