Sorry about waking up this thread, but have started so many new ones, thought this would be a better option.

I am still confused about winter aeration. Up here in the north country everyone says. "You'll have to aerate." Yet from what I gather from my readings here, that aeration is not a good idea if the temps are cold. Or is that only if done from deepest water? Let's be realist and say it is difficult enough in years with lots of snow to get all the snow removed, to have to always worry about your pond snow removal. (I want to retire where it's warm in the winter someday. LOL, will always comeback up here for summers though.)

Also, If one was to have a geothermal system in a house / garage. If you would pump heated 45 degree garage air out to your pond that would be ideal wouldn't it?
