I'd look on the T A&M Univ. website for their pond water testing services and send a sample of water in to them to have it tested. The white stuff is most likely a fungus that was brought about by the fish being stressed.

But by having the water tested, a lot of questions can be put to rest. I don't have the number handy, but when you find it, call 'em and ask them what tests you should have done. As long as they are testing, have them test for N, P and Alk too.

Got the vertex installed on Wednesday. Working it in slowly like suggested, just 15 minutes the first day and doubling it each day. Still losing fish, lost 5 more blue cat today and a couple cnbg and a hsb. Also starting to lose fatheads. Hopefully after a week or so it will get cleared up. I talked with A&M and I'm going to send in a water sample next week. Hopefully it will start to take a turn in the right direction. Today was a hot one with no wind, so it made it twice as bad.
