Hi all,
I wouldn't call myself a new pond owner I have had a pond for about 4.5 years. I found this site when I was searching for pond leakage solutions.
I live in south Louisiana about a mile north of the Mississippi River. My pond is about 1/5th of an acre and about an average of 8 foot deep with a few deep spots about 12 foot deep. I stocked it with 40 Channel cats, 70 Coppernose bream and 15 Bass about 4 years ago. Last year I caught some catfish over 10 pounds, some bream over a pound and have caught some Bass around 5 pounds. I was hit real hard early this year with an Anhinga problem, 18 birds would feast on my fish while I was at work. We finally got the birds skittish enough not to hang around as much anymore. I also have had a Nutria problem, they tore up my banks by eating all of the grass and dirt 3 inches down to get the roots too. I found out the Nutria love Bermuda and hate crabgrass. The Nutria also caused areas of my bank to collaspe from borrowing under it.

Welcome to Pond Boss. I take care of the water turkeys when I can.I would do the same with the nutria. Sounds like you have a good pond to fish in. Good luck.
