Exciting to me at least
So I have a reputable pond guy who has come out To the property to evaluate the possibility of pond construction
Due to topography and terrain, he recommended an approx 1/3 acre Pond, and to line it with "visqueen". So he is using visqueen generically, and is Actually taking about ~20 mil polyethylene, which I have seen listed on several lining Sites as an option for pond lining
He states that the liner will be placed, then covered with ~3 feet of dirt, due to its uv sensitivity and to ensure its not bothered by animals etc. He has built ponds this way for 20 years and the only issue (per him) has been when someone built a dock afterwards and drove multiple large pilings through the Liner
Assuming all other requirements (as I have read in the book) are taken care of, would any folks have issues with this type of liner, or have used this type of liner?

Sounds feasible. Also sounds like a PITA, staging and moving all that dirt around, while being careful not to damage the poly. Good luck, and be sure to post some pics. I'm thinking about using this method to build a small natural swimming pool in my yard.

This way of doing things does limit my depth due to slope Concerns with a liner, however we should be able to have 3:1 with no issues.
The contract will include a maximum depth minimum of 10 feet at the ctr, after layering of dirt. Most of the natural bow around here don't ever exceed this, and the ext office handout on building Florida ponds doesn't see the utility of water deeper than 12 for our area. Of course groundwater may become an issue if going much deeper.
