Can Chain Pickerel be used in small ponds along with LMB as a predator to control BG offspring?

I know they are a pretty viscous ambush predator and fun on light tackle, but are they a problem fish that should be avoided in a farm pond.

Are they prone to getting out of control from reproduction?

where in FL is your pond?

Goofing off is a slang term for engaging in recreation or an idle pastime while obligations of work or society are neglected........... Wikipedia

It's been my experience that unless a pond is heavily vegetated, chain pickerel(CP) don't compete well with LMB in smaller ponds. They are narrow and easily swallowed by bass.

They can take up some of the biomass that bass would otherwise take up, so that should be kept in mind. I do believe they can be utilized in controlling bass numbers, so they do not get out of control. They are less effective at controlling BG numbers.

Thanks for the info. I'm just looking to add a little variety for more angling diversity. But I don't want to add anything that is going to mess up a pond geared towards BG.

I don't think adding CP will affect your BG goal.
