He's been eating one every day, started out with five.
I don't know what they are, maybe creek chub or similar? They came from a local bait & tackle shop.

They seem far too fast to be FHM... Could you get a close up good photo of a couple of the minnows and post them on here? I am curious as to what they are.

CJ is probably correct because when I look closely at the very clear picture I can see the enlarged fleshy first ray of the dorsal fin indicating a fathead minnow. Good 'eye' CJ for spotting morphological details. Large nonbreeding fatheads and small creek chubs are often hard for me to separate.

When it's this tough to ID fish for us who have looked at thousands of them, for beginners it must be overwhelming. Even ichthyologists struggle with many species of related Cyprinids.
