When wolves are around the yote and fox populations shrink markedly. When yotes are around the fox populations decrease. In unregulated areas when yotes are around the dog population shrinks. See a pattern here ?
I also recently heard that the fox will decrease the wood duck population. When the coyote is around and reduces the fox population the wood ducks start to increase in number.
I don't disagree about the fact that nature takes care of itself as far as wildlife numbers go. When you compare it to our ponds, most of us here manage them. When the BG or LMB numbers get to high, you cull one or the other. If you apply this principal to deer management, then once in a while they need help too. Sometimes to reduce their numbers and sometimes to increase them.
