As i have said before we live in a old coal mining town so the ph of my spring is low 5.5 to 6 it varys when i addlime to raise the ph i do have acess to goldens the luarel hill trout farm in somerset pa have some pretty big ones I bouught some rainbow trout and tryed them before. and after stocking they died in 15 minutes while the brook trout did fine the rainbows were flying around the pond trying to getout the guy at the farm ssaid brooks can take a lower ph and the low ph was burning the gills of the bows.
