I am wanting to aerate a pond so that it does not freeze for waterfowl. This pond is a spring fed high outflow pond that has a year round max depth of 10' and outflow of approximately 1200 gph. Is it possible to use outflow from pond to power a compressor? Electricity is available but it is about 1/2 mile away, not exactly a feasible option. If the outflow is not an option, what are my other options? I have done some research into windmills and they are out of the budget. Any other ideas? I am open to any and all info you may have.
